Morgan City Among the 8 Friendliest Cities in Louisiana

According to a report by World Atlas, Morgan City, La. is one of the 8 friendliest cities in Louisiana.

The atlas gave a little history of Louisiana while sharing information about the state to potential tourists. It said that many places are named after those who were great rulers at the time. Louisiana was named after King Louis XIV of France when the French Empire established a foothold in North America. Although the Louisiana Purchase liberated Louisiana from French rule, the state continued to adhere to a legal system that Napolean Bonaparte created, unlike the other 49 states that followed English common law.

World Atlas says that Louisiana is a perfect destination for a vacation due to the extremely warm and welcoming towns of the state.  The site states, “In the murky bayous and beyond the triumvirate of big cities, you will find novel charms and memorable experiences in the many beautiful towns of the Pelican State.” The website encourages tourists to immerse themselves in the Cajun and Acadian cultures of Louisiana and explore the eight friendliest towns in 2024.

Other cities besides Morgan City who made the list include:

Breaux Bridge

Natchitoches

Farmerville

Minden

Abita Springs

Leesville

St. Francisville
