Missing Thibodaux Man’s Body Found in Bayou Lafourche

Sheriffs Craig Webre of Lafourche Parish and Leland Falcon of Assumption Parish confirmed the discovery of a Thibodaux man’s body in Assumption Parish. The deceased, Troymicheal Johnlouis, 34, had gunshot and other injuries when found on Monday night.

Johnlouis was reported missing in the early hours of September 17, 2023, after being last seen with a woman entering a car the previous evening. On Monday evening, deputies in Assumption Parish found a body in Bayou Lafourche, around 10 miles away from Thibodaux. By 8:15 p.m., Johnlouis’ body was retrieved and identified by officers.

Detectives from both parishes are collaborating to identify the crime scene in the ongoing murder investigation.
