Funeral services have been set for Michael Scott Truelove who passed away peacefully at the age of 60 in the early afternoon hours of Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Iberia Medical Center.
Scott, as he was known by all, was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on November 26, 1963, the third of five children born to the union of Robert and Sonya Truelove. Scott was a quiet natured person who was blessed to earn a living doing what he loved – which was fishing. If he wasn’t on the water he was probably working on his boat or building nets. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Nothing made him happier than enjoying the wonder, peace, and tranquility of God’s creation.
Scott is survived by his three siblings, Charles “Chuck” Truelove, David Truelove, and Debbie Truelove and her companion Toby Landry; his nieces and nephew, Krissi Grice and her husband Corey, Brandon Truelove, Katie Vilcan, Amanda Vilcan and her companion Caman Melancon, and Olivia Sword; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Truelove and Sonya Venable Truelove; his brother, Thomas Dean Truelove; and his brother-in-law, Jeff Sword.
Memorial services will be held at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin, where he will be laid to rest with his parents.
