Michael Lynn Barrilleaux, affectionately known as Mickey, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 with his family at his side, almost immediately following his family praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at his bedside at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans.

Mickey was a native and lifelong resident of Centerville and was the youngest of three children born to the union of Roland and Burnie Mae Barrilleaux. He married the love of his life, Toni Soileau, in Centerville on July 20, 1969. Together they welcomed two children, Blaine and Kimberly. Toni and Mickey’s love for each other was the epitome of what a marriage should be, having lived out their marriage vows for 51 years, at the time of Toni’s passing.

Mickey started his work career as a welder, working for Bayou Sale Contractors, and was well known as a skilled craftsman in the trade. He later went on to work for the St. Mary Parish Sewage District #5 until starting his own business, T&M Municipal Supply, of which he operated until retiring in his mid 60s.

In his younger years Mickey enjoyed playing Basketball, which he continued to play in his spare time after marriage until an injury put him out of work and his father told him that was enough of that. Later in life he took to the game of golf playing with his buddies all over the region. He and Toni enjoyed their many beach vacations along the Gulf Coast. The beach was truly their happy place, which they passed on to their children and grandchildren. But above all else, family was the most important and cherished part of their lives. He and Toni never missed anything that their children and grandchildren were involved in. They were truly proud of the family they built and in the words of his children, they were the best parents in the world.

Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his son, Blaine Barrilleaux and his wife Karen; his daughter, Kimberly Barrilleaux Hebert and her husband Brady; eight grandchildren, Taylor Barrilleaux, Brock Barrilleaux, Chase Businelle and his wife Emma, Drake Businelle, Karli B. Rodriguez and her husband Luke, Avery Businelle, Caroline Hebert, and Katherynne Hebert; eight great grandchildren, Ainsley, Briggs, Emilia, Eleanor, Shepard, Sylvie, Lillian, and Seager; his sister, Elaine B. Rodriguez; his brother, Roland “Bubbie” Barrilleaux Jr. and his wife Diane; his in-laws, Paulette “Polly” Robicheaux and her husband Wayne, Timothy “Timmy” Soileau and his wife Norma, Danila “SheShe” Brown and her husband Kenny, and Sherman “Jay” Soileau and his companion Patti; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Toni Soileau Barrilleaux; his parents, Roland J. Barrilleaux Sr. and Burnie Mae Ardeneaux Barrilleaux; and his brother-in-law, Phillip Rodriguez.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville during a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM at the church, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 11:30 AM. Following the Mass he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Joel Faulk will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Taylor Barrilleaux, Chase Businelle, Drake Businelle, Brock Barrilleaux, Luke Rodriguez, and Lance Rodriguez.
