On Thursday, the Morgan City Fire Department swiftly reacted to a medical emergency on the Highway 182 Bridge. Workers at the scene informed the responders that the victim was trapped beneath the bridge and unable to move. Consequently, more personnel and gear were swiftly deployed as the situation escalated to a rope rescue-medical operation.
The MCFD team effectively utilized their recently acquired rope rescue equipment and advanced training in this emergency. The patient was safely rescued and handed over to Acadian Ambulance, who provided medical treatment and transportation to a nearby hospital.
