Pierre Part – Louisiana State Police Troop C is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, on Louisiana Highway 70 near Leonie Street in Assumption Parish. The crash resulted in the death of 43-year-old Blake Landry of Pierre Part.
According to troopers, Landry was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on LA 70 when a 2004 International box truck traveling westbound crossed the centerline for reasons still under investigation. The box truck struck Landry’s vehicle head-on.
Landry, who was properly restrained, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The driver of the International truck suffered serious injuries and was taken to an out-of-area hospital for treatment. Troopers are still determining whether that driver was properly restrained.
Standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
