A developing low pressure area in the western Gulf may deepen and move across the northern Gulf by Wednesday, with its exact path still uncertain. This weather system could result in various impacts on the region.
Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall, totaling 2-4 inches, is anticipated mainly overnight tonight and through Tuesday night, with coastal areas possibly receiving even higher amounts. Gusty winds will gradually increase in intensity, peaking at 35-40 mph during Tuesday afternoon and evening. Coastal and Southshore regions can expect stronger gusts.
Marine zones will face heightened risks, as Gale Watches, Warnings, and Small Craft Advisories have been issued regarding winds and sea conditions.
As for potential coastal flooding, minor to moderate levels are possible. A Coastal Flood Watch has been issued and could be escalated to a warning for some areas within it. Advisories may be needed for areas not upgraded or currently outside the watch. The most significant impact is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday night during high tide.
