On Saturday, voters will head to the polling stations to cast their votes in several statewide and local elections, including choosing a new Louisiana Governor. Local ballots will feature open positions in Senate District 21, St. Mary Parish President and Sheriff, as well as various legislative and parish council races.

In the western part of the parish, a tax millage renewal is proposed to continue funding the operations of Bayou Bend Health System. Meanwhile, Morgan City is faced with an amendment addressing a technical error in the city charter originating from the transition from at-large to single member districts in 2000. Mayor Lee Dragna assures this is a mere formality and urges Morgan City residents to vote in favor of rectifying the issue.

Polling locations will be open from 7 am to 8 pm. To find your designated polling site and view a sample ballot, visit GeauxVote.com.
