The National Weather Service says they are still expecting a very cold airmass to move into our region on Sunday, bringing dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills across the entire area from Monday through Wednesday. Minimum temperatures from Monday to Wednesday will be in the 20s, with wind chills in the low teens.
In addition to the cold, there is a continued potential for winter precipitation on Tuesday as an area of low pressure develops and moves across the northern Gulf of Mexico into the very cold air. Tuesday will be the main time frame for any winter precipitation, with a 60-70% chance for any snow accumulation and a 40-50% chance for up to 2 inches of snow. The threat of freezing rain remains low, with a 0-20% chance of freezing rain also on Tuesday.
