Motorists traveling on LA 662 in Assumption Parish should prepare for daily lane closures beginning Monday, February 23, 2026.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that construction is underway for State Project H.016379, which includes patching, milling, overlay, striping, and related roadway improvements.

Location: LA 662 between LA 398 and the Terrebonne Parish Line
Dates: Monday, February 23, 2026 – Friday, March 6, 2026
Days: Monday through Friday
Time: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work will require daily alternating lane closures, but one lane of traffic will remain open at all times. Flaggers will be on site to safely direct motorists through the work zone.
No permit or oversized loads wider than 12 feet will be allowed through the work zone.
Oversized load drivers must contact the DOTD permit office to arrange an alternate route.
All closures are subject to change due to adverse weather conditions.
DOTD reminds motorists to expect delays, use caution while traveling through construction zones, and remain alert for workers and equipment.
