Kathrn Andrews Dreher, 83, of Baton Rouge and Morgan City, LA, passed away after a brief illness on October 27, 2023. She was born on July 26, 1940 in Houston, Texas to Susan Carlon Andrews and Milton Raymond Andrews. She subsequently moved with her family to Morgan City, LA in the 1950s where she met and married Eugene I. Dreher, III. Her parents and husband have all predeceased her.
Kathryn is survived by two children, Nancy Dreher of Baton Rouge, and Eugene I. Dreher, IV (Jennifer) of Broussard, Louisiana; sister Margaret Miles (Brad); grandchildren Kathryn Wildey (Randy), Joan Dreher Barras (Chase), Jenna Dreher, and Katherine Dreher; great-granddaughter Olivia Wildey; nieces Kathleen Phillips (Ron) and Karen Ellzey Wright (Tim); nephews Brian Miles (Renee) and Marcus Miles.
Kathryn attended Morgan City High School and was a graduate of Nicholls State University where she majored in elementary education. She primarily taught fifth grade at both public and private schools in the Morgan City area. She had a particular love of learning and teaching America history. Kathryn was a gifted soprano and participated in the Sweet Adelines organization, Tuneweavers, and Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church choir for many years. She was also a creative seamstress who created lovely quilts, bags, and other items as gifts for her family and friends throughout her life. Her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements will be handled by Twin City Funeral Home of Morgan City. A service will be held at Pharr Chapel in Morgan City on DATE and TIME. Burial to follow at the Morgan City Cemetery.
