Jeffery Barrett, a man of exceptional character and boundless love, passed away on Wednesday, July 19 2023 leaving behind countless cherished memories he created with his family and friends.
In honoring his life, a gathering of friends and family will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin, Wednesday, July 26 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Thursday, July 27, from 10:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM. A burial service will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery in Centerville following the service.
A hardworking and virtuous individual, Jeffery was admired by all who knew him. Despite any hardships he faced, he always wore a smile and remained steadfast in his determination to enjoy life to the fullest. An avid lover of the great outdoors, he found solace in camping and exploring, never allowing pain to hinder his adventurous spirit.
At the heart of his passions were his family and his loyal companion, Chief, his beloved canine friend, with whom he shared countless moments of joy and companionship.
Nothing brought him more thrill than the rumble of his Harley-Davidson as he rode with a free spirit, participating in motorcycle events such as the Lone Star Rally in Galveston. Jeffery found joy in the vibrant atmosphere of the sandbar, embracing the company of friends and family, where laughter and camaraderie thrived.
A dedicated supporter of the Steelers, he cheered for his team with unwavering support, enjoying thrilling games with friends who shared his enthusiasm. When it came to unwinding, he savored the warmth of Jack Daniel’s, sipping the moments away in the company of those he loved.
The greatest treasures in his life were his children and grandchildren. He loved them deeply and unconditionally, their happiness becoming his own. A man of many talents, Jeffery displayed his craftsmanship in woodworking, welding, and mechanics, creating beautiful pieces that will stand as a testament to his skills and creativity.
In nature’s embrace, Jeffery found tranquility in fishing, and the thrill of the hunt invigorated his soul. He appreciated the simple joys of life and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, creating a tapestry of memories that will forever linger in their hearts.
As we bid farewell to Jeffery, we celebrate the legacy of love, laughter, and perseverance he leaves behind. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched. Though he may have departed from this world, the spirit of his adventurous soul will live on in the stories shared by family and friends.
Jeffery is survived by his loving wife Jonnette Barrett; his sons- Craig Barrett, Brandon Barrett & his partner Kirk Evans, Kaden Baratt & his partner Rachel Paige; his brothers, Gary Crawford, Mark Crawford, & Chester Barrett Jr.; His sister, Louwanna Greer & her husband Rob Greer; his grandkids, Kalyn Smith, Arieanna Castille, a Amillia Castille; as well as a host of extended family and friends whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julia Shearer and Chester Barrett Sr.; his sister, Sherry Durocher; his brother, Timothy Crawford; his mother-in-law, Linda Franks.
