IBERIA PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING A HOME INVASION AND STABBING

Iberia Parish, LA – On October 31, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a home invasion and stabbing in the 4900 and 5000 block of Dolphin Street in Iberia Parish. Detectives arrived on scene and assumed control of the investigation.

Upon arrival, deputies located suspect Casey Meaux of Lafayette, who was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the chest. The wound was inflicted by the owner of the second residence during the invasion. Both the victims and Meaux were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Casey Meaux (47 years old) has been arrested and is currently facing the following charges:
•​LA RS 14:62.8 – Home Invasion (2 counts)
​•​LA RS 14:27:30(5) – Attempted First Degree Murder (2 counts)

This is an ongoing investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming. Bond has not been set at this time.
