Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of Steven James Parker, 32, of Houma, in connection with a child cyber crime investigation. The arrest was made possible through a collaborative effort with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program.
In early June 2024, detectives with the Special Victim’s Unit in Terrebonne Parish were alerted to a cyber tip report developed by the ICAC Program. The report included digital evidence linked to a local Terrebonne-based computer. The ICAC Program was established to combat the growing problem of child sexual abuse imagery online and the increasing number of predators targeting underage victims through technology.
A thorough investigation by the Special Victim’s Unit revealed evidence of child pornography videos in the possession of a local resident, later identified as Steven James Parker. Detectives subsequently obtained warrants for Parker’s arrest.
On July 22, detectives located Parker in the 100 block of Neron Street and brought him in for questioning. During the interview, Parker admitted to sending and possessing the videos but refused to acknowledge their content. He was arrested and jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on charges of Pornography Involving Juveniles. He remains jailed on a $5,000 bond set by local judges.
