LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. — Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of a Galliano man following an investigation into sex crimes involving two female victims.
Davery Gaspard, 39, was arrested after detectives began investigating allegations of rape on February 3, 2026.
According to authorities, the investigation uncovered evidence of an incident in 2025 in which Gaspard allegedly engaged in forceful sexual contact with a woman against her will. During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a second woman who was reportedly the victim of sexual battery. Investigators say one of the incidents involved Gaspard holding the victim against her will.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Gaspard’s arrest.
Gaspard was taken into custody and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex. He faces the following charges:
Third Degree Rape
Three Counts of Sexual Battery
False Imprisonment
Bail has been set at $330,000.
The investigation remains ongoing.
