Funeral arrangements have been announced for 18-year-old Garylon Brown, whose life tragically ended in a two-vehicle crash in Iberia Parish on November 13, 2025.
Celebration of Life Scheduled
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the West St. Mary Civic Center in Four Corners.
Pastor Valerie Rhine will deliver the eulogy.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the civic center, continuing until the start of the service.
Brown will be laid to rest at Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrel, Louisiana.
Remembering Garylon Brown
Born on November 28, 2006, in New Iberia, Garylon was the daughter of Erma Brown and acknowledged father Tracy Hypolite. Loved ones describe her as a standout athlete, a leader, and a bright spirit whose presence brought joy, laughter, and kindness everywhere she went.
Garylon was deeply loved by her family, friends, teammates, and all who were touched by her energy both on and off the court. Her loss is felt profoundly throughout the community.
She is survived by her parents; siblings Tra’Naijah Hypolite and Kevriel Brown; acknowledged siblings Tracejah, Fabian, Tracy Jr., Tre’Aunna, Tra’Chalyn, Ja’Tracylnn, Traclynn, and Tayilnn Hypolite; grandparents Percy and Jane Brown; acknowledged grandmother Janice Marie Hypolite; godparents Emily Hall, Lacresha Hines, and Timothy Matthews; godbrother Karsyn Bowser; and numerous relatives and friends.
