FRANKLIN, La. — The Franklin Police Department is continuing its investigation into a shooting reported late Sunday night.
On December 29, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of Cayce Street. Upon arrival, officers located a victim who had sustained gunshot-related injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in critical condition.
As a result of the investigation, Javise Jack, 28, of Highway 83 in Franklin, was arrested on December 30, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Jack was charged with:
Attempted First Degree Murder
Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
Disturbing the Peace
Jack was booked and processed and is currently being held without bond at the time of this release.
