Early Saturday morning, Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports that deputies arrested Jeremy J. Randle, 36, of 323 Second Street, Franklin, LA, on felony charges stemming from an incident at a retail outlet in Labadieville.

Deputies responded to a complaint in the 3000 block of LA 1, where the complainant reported that Randle was inside the closed business and may have been armed. Upon entering the establishment, deputies found Randle asleep inside, with a handgun in close proximity. It was determined that Randle was not authorized to be in the building.

Further investigation revealed that Randle is a convicted felon and therefore prohibited from legally possessing a firearm.

Randle was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Unauthorized Entry of a Place of Business. He remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
