Employee of The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Charged with Domestic Abuse

Blaze Phillip Bourg, 47, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on July 7, 2025, at 10:30 pm for
domestic abuse battery.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 7:50 pm, deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s
Office were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence involving SMPSO employee Blaze Bourg
and another individual.

Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Bourg and conducted an on-scene
investigation. As a result of that investigation, Bourg was placed under arrest and transported to
the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

In accordance with agency protocol, Bourg has been placed on administrative leave pending the
outcome of an internal investigation by the Office of Professional Standards.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office holds all employees to the highest standards of conduct, and
this matter will be handled with full accountability and transparency.

Bail has not been set at this time.
