On Thursday, December 16, at 6:23 pm, officers with the Morgan City Police Department were called to Justa Street for a crash. Responding officers learned a vehicle had crashed into a parked truck and the driver allegedly fled on foot with a hunting rifle.
The driver reportedly discarded the hunting rifle and returned to the scene of the crash. Officers have taken the driver into custody and have recovered the hunting rifle. The incident is still under investigation at this time and the suspect has not been identified.
