The Hamer family, owner and operator of local Morgan City business, B & G Foods, the parent company of Taco Bell, recently donated funds to acquire drones and ballistic shields.  MCPD says the shields will greatly assist in improving officers’ safety.
Drones have had a major impact in the law enforcement industry. Today’s law enforcement frequently uses drones for tactical deployments, traffic crash reconstruction and search and rescue. For search and rescue, drones provide an invaluable resource to aid law enforcement to search large areas while being equipped with thermal optics and voice command technology. With these newly acquired tools, MCPD says they hope to save lives.
Chief Chad M. Adams and the Morgan City Police Department thanked Mr. Gregory Hamer Sr. and family for their continued support for the Morgan City Police Department.  MCPD added that with this invaluable community partnership, they hope to improve saving lives.
