A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Assumption on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 1:00 PM for Dolores Johnson – Broussard. Interment will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Joel Faulk will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass, with the Rosary being prayed at 12:00 PM, led by the Franklin Men’s Ultreya Group.

Mrs. Dolores passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the age of 89. She was a native of Ville Platte, LA and a longtime resident of Franklin. Dolores loved line dancing and yoga, which she did for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, traveling, and hosting friends for coffee and lunch. She especially loved having her family over for dinner.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her children, Lisa Moss and her husband Walton, Becky Barrilleaux and her husband Craig, and Blake Johnson and his wife Pam; grandchildren, Jenny (Travis) Clements, Michelle (Mike Dion) Barrilleaux, Keeley (Matthew) Landry, Seth (Carley) Moss, Blake “B.J.” (Alexis) Johnson II, Maggie Johnson, and Noel Johnson; great grandchildren, Brennan, Ella, and Lily Clements, Jayce, Eleanor, and Mason Landry, Brayden, Emmy, and Elliot Moss, Kate Johnson, and Demi and Talan Dion; sister, Theresa (Donald) Courville; sister-in-law, Glorious Charlie; brother-in-law, U. J. Meche; and stepchildren, Evelyn (Mike) Tisdale, Elaine (Mark) Walker, David (Linda) Broussard, and Charlotte Broussard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guilbeau Fontenot and Theresa Brignac Fontenot; husbands, Leray Courville, A.J. Johnson, and Clifton Broussard; and sisters, Betty (Rogers) Reed, Zula Mae (Melvin) Tate, and Norma Meche.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Seth Moss, B.J. Johnson, Brennan Clements, Travis Clements, Matthew Landry, and Billy Guillory. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Reed, Dwight Tate, and Mike Dion.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Roland Degeyter as well as to their mother’s caregivers, Lydia Phillips, Nekey Leonard, Ebani Landry, and Jenny Clements (granddaughter). Your loving care will never be forgotten.
