Diane was a proud graduate of Morgan City High School, where the foundations of her gentle yet spirited nature began to shine. A woman of deep Christian faith, she carried her beliefs close to her heart, allowing them to guide her in how she loved, gave, and lived. Each morning began with her cherished cup of coffee and a cigarette— a quiet ritual that brought peace and centered her for the day ahead.
Diane was a sweetheart through and through, radiating kindness to everyone around her. But those who knew her best also knew the spark beneath her soft exterior — a feisty, passionate spirit that made her all the more endearing. She had a lively soul that came alive through music and dancing, and in her younger years, she was an avid reader, losing herself in stories that ignited her imagination. She also loved to do crossword puzzles.
Above all else, Diane was a devoted and nurturing mother — a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Her children always knew the comfort of her unconditional love and care. As a grandmother, she became the ultimate “mother hen,” tenderly taking her grandchildren under her wing with warmth, protection, and endless affection. They were her pride, her joy, and the living symbols of the legacy she leaves behind.
Diane’s legacy is one of unwavering love, faith, and devotion to family. She taught those around her the power of compassion, the importance of simple joys, and the strength found in both tenderness and tenacity. Her presence was a gift, her memory a blessing, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved so deeply.
Those left to cherish Diane’s beautiful memory are her two sons, William “Billy” Fuselier Jr. and his wife Tammie of Berwick and Darrell “Jason” Sides of Bayou Vista; two grandchildren, Krystal Houghton and her husband, Jeremy, and Dustin Fuselier and his wife, Kristi; and four great grandchildren, Raelynn Houghton, Colt Houghton, Rease Fuselier, and Ella Rose Fuselier. She is also survived by two sisters, Geraldine “Gerry” Broussard and Dolores Robicheaux.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, Percy and Maude Duval; three brothers, CJ Duval, Murray Duval and Huey Duval; and three sisters, Dora Marcel, Rena Drash, and Mercedes “Merce” Fabre.
