David Paul Hebert was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the evening hours of Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the age of 67, in the comfort of his home surrounded in love by his family.

David was born in Franklin on November 4, 1957, the younger of two children born to the union of Elred and Joselyn Hebert. Following in his father’s footsteps, David was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having honorably served his country and fellow man from April 26, 1976 until April 25, 1979. He was a hardworking man who gave his all in providing for his family. He was a dedicated longtime employee of Columbian Chemicals Company until suffering a brain aneurysm in 2012 which left him permanently disabled. The following 13 years brought many other health issues, but being a man of determination, David always fought through these adversities.

David was an avid outdoorsman who cherished time spent on the water, fishing and crabbing. He also enjoyed fixing things, working in his shop, growing vegetable gardens, working in his yard, and cutting not only his grass but also any others he could help. He loved listening to his country music and watching old westerns and the old wholesome TV shows. He was especially proud of his prized 1972 Chevy Corvette which he received for his 40th birthday.

David’s memory will be treasured and held in the hearts of his wife of 46 years, Sally H. Hebert; their three daughters, Lacey Hebert Tabb and her husband Steven, Ashley Hebert Fletcher and her husband Joel, and Bethany Hebert; his precious grandchildren, Carson Jacob Tabb, Kamdyn Reece Tabb, Joel Chriss Fletcher Jr., Ashlyn Grace Fletcher, Allie Rose Fletcher, Anna Joy Fletcher, and Jaxson David Fletcher; his grand-dog, Sniper Paul; his sister, Elizabeth Hebert; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant child; his parents, Elred Phillip Hebert Jr. and Joselyn Landry Hebert Estep; his mother-in-law, Lucille Duval Hebert; and his father-in-law, Wilton Joseph Hebert Sr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Victory Tabernacle at 2:00 PM with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, David will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Victory Tabernacle Cemetery. Rev. Jessie Higgins and Rev. Chris Hebert will conduct the services. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Steven Tabb, Carson Tabb, Joel Fletcher, Joel Chriss Fletcher Jr., Rocky James Giroir, and Wilton J. “Jo Jo” Hebert Jr.

The family extends their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice, especially Lacy S. Landry and Marquese Barto, and Desiree Lalonde with APEX. You’re kindest and compassion will never be forgotten.
