Cleco and the City of Morgan City continue to work to restore power to their customers. Morgan City Utilities Director Bill Cefalu tells KQKI News they are waiting for Cleco to energize the lines going to the city as well as the power substation before power can be restored. Cleco has not been able to give him a potential timeline, therefore there is currently no ETA for power restoration at this time.
Cleco said they are continuing to assess damage, make system repairs and restore power after Hurricane Francine made landfall on Louisiana’s coast as a Category 2 Hurricane leaving approximately 37,000 customers without power.
“Our hardest hit parishes were Iberia, St. Mary and St. Tammany,” said Clint Robichaux,
director of distribution operations and reliability. “Our crews were mobilized early this morning and have restored power to roughly 15,000 customers, and we are continuing to make progress.”
Parish Customers remaining without power:
Iberia 265
St. Mary 13,814
St. Tammany 11,018
