Narcotics Arrest from March 5, 2025, from Chief B.C. Trahan:
On the morning of March 5, 2025, a Chitimacha Tribal Police K9 Officer made an enforcement stop on a vehicle that committed a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the Officer observed indicators of criminal activity. The K9 Officer deployed his partner K9 Diesel who alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle located illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.
Camern W Sanford; 18, Old Jeanerette Road, New Iberia; was arrested for stop signs and yield signs, drag racing and racing on public roads; exemptions, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of schedule II drugs (oxycodone), unlawful purchase/public possession/alcoholic beverage, unlawful sale/purchase/possession tobacco-person under 18, illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal possession of a firearm on school property, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law; drug-free zone, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He was transported to St Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Jude R Boudreaux; 26, Oneida Street, Charenton, was arrested for unlawful possession and/or use of drug and unlawful possession and/or use of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons.
17-year-old Male Juvenile, Reidel Private Rd, Broussard, was arrested for purchase/public possession of alcohol by a person under 21 and possession of tobacco products by a minor (vape), He was released on a summons to a guardian.
17-year-old Female Juvenile, French Street, New Iberia; was arrested for purchase/public possession of alcohol by a person under 21 and possession of tobacco products by a minor (vape). She was released on a summons to a guardian.
