The Morgan City Fire Department was called to a structure fire on Monday night at 126 Poncio Street. This address hosted a former club and cafe establishment. The almost 75-year-old cement block building sustained considerable damage to its structure and contents.
Firefighters who arrived first on the scene observed heavy flames and smoke emanating from the building’s front and rooftop areas. They managed to put out the fire swiftly. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
