Berwick, La. – The Brashear Family Scholarship, established to honor the legacy of Janie and Nolan Brashear, has officially opened applications for this year’s graduating class at Berwick High School.
Janie and Nolan Brashear were lifelong pillars of the Berwick community, remembered for their generosity, resilience, and enduring love. Their impact continues through this annual scholarship, created to support and encourage local students as they take their next steps beyond high school.
Each year, four BHS seniors are awarded $1,000 scholarships. The funds may be used for any post-graduation path, including college, trade school, technical or career training, or other opportunities that help students build a strong foundation for their future.
Organizers say the scholarship reflects the Brashear family’s commitment to investing in young people and giving back to the community they cherished.
Applications are now open, and Berwick High School seniors are encouraged to apply.
