Berwick Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop and Search Warrant

A Berwick man was arrested Tuesday evening following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of narcotics and a subsequent search warrant execution.

On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at approximately 9:20 pm officers with the Berwick Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Utah Street after observing a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Brian Henry Henderson, 42, of Berwick.

Henderson was taken into custody after officers confirmed he had an active warrant for a parole violation. During the stop, officers requested assistance from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a small quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

As the investigation progressed, officers developed additional information that led to the issuance of a search warrant for Henderson’s residence. Upon executing the warrant, investigators located approximately seven ounces of methamphetamine, along with evidence indicating the narcotics were intended for distribution. Suspected fentanyl was also recovered from the residence.

Henderson was transported to the Berwick Police Department and booked into the Berwick Jail on the following charges:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Fentanyl
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Violation of CDS in a Drug-Free Zone (Church)
  • Parole Violation
  • License Plate Light Required
  • Turn Signals Required (100 Feet)

The investigation remains ongoing.
