Thursday July 25, 2024
Paris Bias B/F 33 of Morgan City was arrested on July 25, 2024 at 6:00 PM for
- BERWICK WARRANT- THEFT
In March 2024, the Berwick Police Department received a complaint of a theft of a wallet and debit card. Through the course of the investigation, evidence was gathered linking Bias to the theft. It was also learned that Bias made several transactions with the victim’s debit card while in Berwick. Warrants were prepared for her arrest. On July 25, 2024, Bias was located at the Berwick Police Department and it was learned of the active warrant. Bias was placed under arrest and booked on the above charge.

Mark Broussard Jr. W/M 34 of Morgan City was arrested on July 27, 2024 at 6:32 PM for
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
On July 27, 2024 at approximately 6:18 PM the Berwick Police Department received a call of a disturbance between two individuals. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Broussard. While speaking with Broussard, he dropped drug paraphernalia on the ground. Broussard was placed under arrest and upon a search of his person, suspected Methamphetamine was located. Broussard was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above charges.
Victor Diaz Sanchez H/M 54 of Baton Rouge was arrested on July 27, 2024 at 9:00 PM
- DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED 1ST
- RECKLESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
- NO DRIVER’S LICENSE
On July 27, 2024 at approximately 8:43 PM officers in the area of US Hwy. 90 observed a vehicle traveling East in the West bound lane. A short time later, officers were able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Diaz Sanchez. While speaking with him, signs of impairment were detected. Diaz Sanchez performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he submitted a valid breath sample of 0.224G% BAC and was booked on the above charges.
Ron Abshire W/M 55 of Patterson was arrested on July 27,2024 at 11:12 PM for
- DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED 1ST OFFENSE
- RECKLESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
On July 27, 2024 at approximately 11:05 PM a vehicle was observed traveling West on US Hwy. 90 in a reckless manner. A traffic stop was conducted and officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Abshire. While speaking with Abshire, impairment was detected. Abshire refused field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest. Abshire was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he submitted a valid breath sample of 0.202G% BAC and booked on the above charges.

Herman Delco B/M 42 of Morgan City was arrested on July 28,2024 at 01:13 AM for
- ST. MARY PARISH WARRANT- FAILURE TO APPEAR
On July 28, 2024 at approximately 01:00 AM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed speeding on US Hwy. 90. Officers made contact with Delco and learned that he had active warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs. Delco was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the outstanding warrant.
