Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced the arrest of Jacob Allen Geisler, 31, of Bayou L’Ourse, following an alleged home invasion and assault early Tuesday morning.
According to authorities, deputies responded to a residence in the 200 block of Cecilia Street after receiving a report of an incident. The victim told deputies that Geisler had entered the home while he was asleep and attacked him with an object.
Deputies observed visible injuries on the victim that were allegedly inflicted by Geisler. They also found signs of forced entry into the residence.
Geisler was taken into custody in Bayou L’Ourse on Tuesday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. He faces charges of home invasion and remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
