Funeral services for Barbara Breaux Landry will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin during a 12:00 noon Mass of Christian Burial. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in the mausoleum in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Jeanerette. Father Christopher Cambre will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. The family requests visiting hours be observed at the church from 10:00 a.m. until Mass time, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 11:00 a.m.
Barbara was born in Baldwin on March 8, 1933, one of six children born to Hector and Nellie Breaux. She passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.
Survivors include eight children, Dale Landry and his wife Amanda of Franklin, Trudy Williams and her husband Michael of Jeanerette, Dr. Kim Landry and his wife Suzanne of Gulf Breeze, FL, Neal Landry and his wife Andrea of Jeanerette, Marla Concienne and her husband Ray of Jeanerette, Robby Landry and his wife Sharon of Jeanerette, Mitzi Carruthers and her husband Bruce of Zimbabwe, Africa, and Ryan Landry of Houston, TX; 22 grandchildren, Jared, Blaire, Christina, Seth, Joshua, Benjamin, Andrew, Natalie, Katherine, Brianne, Grant, Stephanie, Jacob, Evan, Meghan, Colby, Matthew, Tyler, Melany, Campbell, Nicholas, and Ava; and 51 great grandchildren and two be to born soon; two sisters, Lou Koon of Lafayette and Jeri Pate of Thibodaux; her lifelong friend, Dr. Francis Bonin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Steve L. Landry; her parents, Hector and Nellie Martin Breaux; grandson, Dougall Carruthers; and three siblings, Daniel Breaux, Donald Breaux, and Sylvia Moncla.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Seth Williams, Joshua Williams, Tyler Landry, Jacob Landry, Jared Landry, Evan Landry, Colby Landry, and Matthew Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Benjamin Williams, Andrew Williams, Grant Landry, Campbell Carruthers, and Nicholas Landry.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Brittany Davis and Rose Martin.
