BALDWIN – A Baldwin man has been arrested following an investigation conducted by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) under Attorney General Liz Murrill.
On October 29, 2025, agents with the LBI arrested 42-year-old Travis Laquan Chavis of Main Street in Baldwin. Chavis faces 12 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles (La. R.S. 14:81.1).
The investigation began after agents received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A joint effort between the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Baldwin Police Department, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Chitimacha Tribal Police led to Chavis’ arrest.
Chavis was booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bond information was not available as of press time.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
