Baldwin Community Center Opens as Shelter

St. Mary Parish has opened a shelter for displaced residents due to Hurricane Francine. The Baldwin Community Center located at 305 LA 83 in Baldwin, LA will serve as the shelter. The shelter will provide 3 meals per day. Residents are responsible for bedding, personal items, and medication. Transportation will also need to be provided.

Morgan City Police Chief Chad M. Adams wants to also remind our citizens that a Dusk/Dawn Curfew will be in effect until utilities can be restored. Currently Cleco is working to restore the main feed of power to the City of Morgan City. Once that feed is restored then the city’s electrical grid can be assessed.

Currently supplies are being organized to be delivered to our area for residents in need.  We will announce that information once we receive it.
