On the evening of July 7th, 2023, around 9:15 pm, Houma Police Department officers were called to a business at the 7400 block of Park Avenue in response to an attempted armed robbery. The suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Wayne Moore, allegedly entered the establishment and threatened an employee with a firearm while demanding money.

However, Moore was startled by other customers and fled the scene. A description of him was promptly relayed to nearby patrol units. Officers spotted an individual matching Moore’s description entering a residence on the 100 block of Stoval Street.

Upon further investigation, Moore was confirmed to be the suspect and found in possession of a BB pistol resembling a Glock handgun. He was then arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery before being taken to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.
