Patterson Jr. High School was placed on a temporary cautionary status Wednesday morning after the Patterson Police Department received a report of what sounded like gunshots in the vicinity of the school. A J-Text was sent to the parents and guardians of students informing them of the school being placed on cautionary status.
However, Patterson Police Chief Garret Grogan tells KQKI News that his officers who were investigating the incident discovered the source of the sound was a blown transformer on nearby Grout Street.
