Thibodaux Man Dies in Wednesday Afternoon Camper Trailer Fire

BATON ROUGE (March 13, 2025) – State Fire Marshal (SFM) deputies are investigating an explosion and fire that claimed the life of a 63-year-old Thibodaux man.

The explosion and fire occurred on Wednesday, March 12, around 3:00 pm.  The St. John Fire Department responded to a report of a camper trailer explosion and fire located in the 100 block of Greenwood Plantation Road in Thibodaux. When firefighters arrived, they found the camper trailer on fire and the victim in an adjacent home. Emergency crews provided first aid and medevaced the man to a New Orleans hospital where he died later.

At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
