St. Mary Parish first responders will compete in an upcoming friendly flag football game to raise money for local nonprofit organizations. The game will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 2:00 pm at the Patterson High School football stadium.

The event is open to the public and fans are asked to bring a toy for Toys for Tots and a non-perishable food item to be donated to the St. Mary Council on Aging.  St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer David Spencer said they are working to make it a community event and benefit some important charities. He added that other details are being worked out at this time, such as possible concession stand sales with profits to be donated to a local charity.  More information will be released as those details are worked out.
