Sheriff-Elect Gary Driskell and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies have been briefed on the updated forecast by the National Weather Service in Lake Charles.
??? ????????? ???? ??e ??????:
We will have below-freezing temperatures Monday night into Wednesday. It should warm up to above-freezing temps during the daytime hours.
The chance for freezing drizzle is minimal for our area, but technically possible. The greatest possibility will be from the hours of 9 pm to 1 am tonight.
With the temperatures and wind, there is a possibility of some slick spots on elevated roadways. Our deputies will be checking those elevated roadways during the night.
With these cold temperatures, we still recommend taking time to prepare.
Take some time to make preparations by wrapping your outside faucets, locating your water shut-off valve, checking your heater, and other preparations.
???????? ??? ???? ?’? ?? ?????? ??????? ???????????…
??????- check on your neighbors and family members, especially our ” Seasoned Citizens,” anyone with health issues or that may need any assistance with preparations.
????????- as stated above, take care to winterize your home. Think about fueling your vehicle, checking the antifreeze level in your vehicle, and getting any supplies you might need.
????- Prepare to bring your pets inside, at least during the coldest times during the overnight hours.
??????- Plants in pots need to be moved inside. Some outdoor plants may need to be covered with a plastic covering.
