The Town of Baldwin is requesting the community to donate clothing and other needed items to benefit the family who was affected by a Monday morning house fire that claimed the life of a elderly man and injured three other victims.
An 87-year-old man died as a result of the fire. Baldwin Fire Chief Rickey Cook told KQKI News that a female suffered burns while trying to rescue the elderly man. She remains in a Lafayette hospital. Two young males escaped but suffered smoke inhalation
A statement released to KQKI News on Wednesday afternoon says, “A tremendous part of our faith is looking out for others. Our community is devastated by the fire that has affected two families. We are requesting members of the community to come together to send clothing and other items as both families suffered the loss of everything.”
