According to Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon, on Sunday at approximately 3:40 pm, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified of a shooting at a residence on Elaine Street in Bayou L’Ourse.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male subject that had sustained multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence and was deceased.
One person was arrested and currently is the only suspect identified at this time.
This is an active investigation and the detectives are attempting to identify a motive or events which led to the shooting.
Once detectives are able to notify the next of kin, the name of the victim will be released. More details will be made available later as the investigation is in its early stages.
