Berwick Police Chief David S. Leonard, Sr. reports the following arrests:
Bonnie M. Manzo, 59-years-old, of Palmer St. Berwick, LA, was arrested on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 12:36PM, on the following charges:
Berwick PD Warrants:
- Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence
- Battery of a Police Officer
On August 10th, at 9:39AM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Palmer St. regarding a medical emergency. While there, officers and paramedics came into contact with Manzo, who was very uncooperative and aggressive. During the incident, Manzo struck an officer in the face and then resisted the officer’s attempts to gain control of her. She was ultimately restrained, then transported to the hospital for an evaluation. She was released from the hospital then booked into the Berwick Jail where she posted bond of $7,000.00.
Chad Williams, 33-years-old, of Burchfield Lane Berwick, LA, was arrested on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 3:52PM, on the following charges:

- Molestation of a Juvenile
- Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles
On July 25th, the Berwick Police Department responded to a complaint of a molestation of a juvenile that occurred in June of 2022 at a residence on Burchfield Lane in Berwick. Detectives conducted an investigation and developed Chad Williams as the suspect. Over the course of the investigation, evidence was recovered that supported the victim’s claims, and during an interview with Williams, more evidence was gathered that also supported those claims. Furthermore, Williams provided statements that he allowed and encouraged juvenile delinquency to occur at the residence. Following the interview with Williams, warrants were secured for his arrest. He was booked into the Berwick Jail and transferred to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for housing. No bond has been set.
