Willie “June” Cooks, Jr., 75, a resident of Franklin, LA and native of Garden City, LA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10:10 PM at Legacy Nursing And Rehabilitation of Franklin.
Visitation will be observed on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 9:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00 AM at Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing). Pastor Ronald Young will officiate the services. Burial will follow funeral services in the New Providence Church Cemetery in Centerville.
Memories of Wille, Jr. or “June” as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his son, Willie Cooks, III of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Alfreda Cooks of Verdunville, LA and Andrea C. (Nicholas) Coats of Houston, TX; three brothers, James (Willie Mae) Cooks, Sr. of Centerville, LA and Alvin (Delores) Cooks and Larry Cooks both of Franklin, LA; three sisters, Shirley C. (Rudy) Kirt, Lorenza Johnson, and Juanita C. (Dave) Dugas all of Franklin, LA; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Willie, Jr. was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Johnson Cooks; his parents, Willie Cooks, Sr. and Gertrude W. Cooks; one son, Louis Ross Cooks; a grandson, Draveon Cooks; one sister, Flora C. Milton and one brother, Benjamin Cooks.
