William Kerry Oschmann

April 1, 1956 – July 15, 2020

William Kerry Oschmann, a former longtime resident of Franklin and a resident of Zwolle for the past 20 years, passed away at the age of 64 in the morning hours of Wednesday, July 15, 2020.

Kerry was born in Franklin on April 1, 1956 to William Oschmann and Mary Margaret Arton. Kerry was the successful owner and operator of Oschmann’s Refrigeration in Franklin for over 30 years and more recently, Kapri Bar & Dance in Zwolle. He was an avid outdoorsman with a true passion for fishing. That passion eventually brought him to call the Toledo Bend area his home.

Kerry never met a stranger and was a friend to all; always willing to lend a hand. But above all, those nearest and dearest to his heart, were his five grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered for his perseverance, positivity, and steadfast fight and will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his three children, Fonda O. Doucet and her husband Dirk, Alex B. Oschmann, and April A. Oschmann; five grandchildren, Carson Doucet, Peyton Doucet, Ambree Doucet, Allyson Oschmann, Anniston-Claire Dogay; his mother, Mary Margaret Arton; his sisters, Kellie C. Petitfils and Veronica Oschmann; his fiancée, April Chance and her two children, Myles and Roszha Craig; and his nieces and nephews, Chelsea LeBlanc, Dylan Petitfils, Caitlin Petitfils, and Matthew Oschmann.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Charles “Bill” Oschmann; his sisters, Mary Catherine “Kitty” Oschmann Reed and Theresa Oschmann; his maternal grandparents, Lionel J. and Mary L. Arton; and his paternal grandparents, William and Catherine Oschmann.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, during a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Following the Mass he will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Joel Faulk will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Oschmann, Dirk Doucet, Carson Doucet, Dylan Petitfils, Peter Soprano, Robert Broussard, and Jamie Price. Honorary pallbearer will be Myles Craig.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 21, at Ibert’s Mortuary from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. dismissal.

Due to the current restrictions concerning limited sized gatherings, current state guidelines will only allow for up to 100 family members and friends to be in attendance during the visitation at Ibert’s Mortuary and 50% capacity at the church. Visitors are also asked to practice social distancing and are required to wear face masks/coverings in accordance with the Governor’s mandate.
