Walmart and Rouses Changing Store Hours Due to Coronavirus Concerns

Walmart and Rouses have both adjusted their hours of business in order to give their employees time to sanitize and restock their shelves.
Walmart Corporation issued a statement which said, “To better support our associates and serve our customers, we will adjust our operating hours beginning Sunday, March 15. Walmart stores and Neighborhood Markets will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until further notice. This will help ensure associates are able to stock the products our customers are looking for and to perform cleaning and sanitizing. Stores currently operating under more reduced hours (for example they regularly close at 10 p.m. or open at 7 a.m.) will keep their current hours of operation.”
“As we make this change, associates will continue to work the hours and shifts they are scheduled, and our supply chain and trucking fleet will continue to move products and deliver to stores on their regular schedules. As a reminder, we have a temporary COVID-19 emergency leave policy to support associates at this unprecedented time.”
Rouses also announced that they are modifying business hours on the Thibodaux-based supermarket chain’s Facebook page.Β  Rouses said, “To prepare our stores to better serve our customers, all Rouses Markets stores will shift to modified hours. Starting tomorrow, March 15 we will shift to modified hours of 7a – 8p in all stores until further notice.”
“These temporary changes, along with some adjustments to our services as needed, will help us keep our shelves stocked and help ensure our customers can secure the products they need as quickly as possible, while allowing our team members who are able to come into work the time to safely restock the shelves and clean the store in the manner it needs to be.”
