Zeta is still a tropical storm as it is nearly off the northern Yucatan Peninsula, but will likely strengthen back to a hurricane later today. There are no significant changes in the forecast of a southeast Louisiana landfall Wednesday evening.
A Tropical Storm Watch continues for Vermilion, Iberia, Lower St. Martin and St. Mary parishes. This area will have the potential for wind gusts in excess of 40 mph especially Wednesday afternoon and evening. Rainfall is forecasted to be 2-4 inches over this area as well. A Storm Surge Warning is in effect for much of the northern Gulf coast including from Intracoastal City to Morgan City. There is the potential storm surge of 2-4 feet as Zeta approaches.
