Thibodaux and Lafourche Parish Closures Due To Covid-19

City of Thibodaux & Lafourche Parish COVID-19 Closure Updates:
(CITY OF THIBODAUX)
*For COVID-19 documents, please refer to the City of Thibodaux website under the Emergency Preparedness tab.
• Thibodaux Police Department –
*No bar cards will be issued or renewed and no applicant fingerprints will be taken.
*There is NO CURFEW for the City of Thibodaux at this time.
•City Hall/Public Works Department –
*Utility and tax collections will be accepted online (https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/thibodauxla) or by utilizing other options, such as automatic bill pay, the drive-up located at City Hall, and outdoor drop boxes located at City Hall and Thibodaux Police Department.
*Anyone needing permits, licenses, or new accounts opened will be accommodated. Please contact the respective departments for assistance and questions. (Permits: 985-446-7223; Tax & Licenses: 985-446-7221 or 985-4467207; Utilities: 985-446-7204, 985-446-7228, or 985-446-7274).
*For those needing to open a new utility account, please print the application (Residential:https://www.ci.thibodaux.la.us/forms/departments/finance/UC/Residential/Residential%20Utility%20Application.pdf; Commercial:https://www.ci.thibodaux.la.us/forms/departments/finance/UC/Commercial/Commercial%20Utility%20Application.pdf) and bring it to the drive-up.
•City Council –
*The Thibodaux City Council meeting schedule will remain as is. Due to building closure, the public will not be allowed at the meetings. Anyone who wishes to comment on an agenda item should submit comments via email (jmorvant@ci.thibodaux.la.us or kmaggio@ci.thibodaux.la.us) or fax (985-446-7299).
•Parks Department –
*All Recreation programs are suspended.
*The Norman Swanner Dog Park will be closed until further notice.
•Warren J. Harang Auditorium –
*No walkers will be allowed inside the Warren J Harang Municipal Auditorium.
•Senior Citizen Center–
*The Thibodaux Senior Citizen Center will be closed until further notice.
•Thibodaux City Court (3-19-20 to 3-30-20)–
*Civil, criminal and juvenile matters involving citizens not incarcerated are continued with notice to be issued to the litigants.
*Matters involving incarcerated individuals including magistrate appearances, bond hearings and arraignments shall be conducted by simultaneous audio-visual conference with the jail in City Court.
•Closed –
*City of Thibodaux casinos, bars, movie theaters, bowling alleys, fitness centers and gyms: City of Thibodaux restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and daiquiris shops.*Delivery and drive-thru orders only.

• Lafourche Parish Schools:
*Distance learning implemented.

*No walk-in’s and curbside drop-off/pick-up implemented.

• ALL LAFOURCHE PARISH GOVERNMENT OFFICES –
*All business transactions have moved to an electronic format only. Residents should use their website www.lafourchegov.org and email for the transactions of business such as permits and work orders.
• Council on Aging –
*Senior Centers have been closed to the public.
*Commodity distributions and re-certifications are canceled.
*Meals will continue to be delivered to homes or can be picked up through a drive-thru at the local center to take home.
*Transportation services and homemaker services will continue.
• Lafourche Parish Assessor’s Office –
*No walk-in’s and appointment by phone/email implemented.
• Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office –
*All in-person visits for inmates have been suspended.
• Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter –
*Stray intake reduced to emergency only.
*All owner surrenders are suspended.
*Adoptions will be handled by online application.
*Volunteers can call the office.
*Spay/neuter program is temporarily suspended.
• 17th Judicial District Court –
*Civil, criminal and juvenile matters involving citizens not incarcerated are continued with notice to be issued to the litigants.
*Matters involving incarcerated individuals including magistrate appearances, bond hearings and arraignments shall be conducted by simultaneous audio-visual conference with the jail in Division A.
• Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court –
*No public access within the building with business to be conducted at the front door during standard business hours.
• Closed.
*Lafourche Parish casinos, bars, movie theaters, bowling alleys, fitness centers and gyms.
Lafourche Parish restaurants, cafes, coffee shops: *Delivery and drive-thru orders only.
