UPDATED: Victim, Suspect Identified in Baldwin Homicide

On Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at approximately 12:48pm, the Baldwin Police Department responded to a call in the 100 block of Newman Street in reference to a female subject who had allegedly been shot by her husband.  The caller informed authorities that while going check to on her mother, who was not answering the telephone, she noticed her father, Sonny LeBlanc Sr., riding a bicycle in only his underwear in the 200 block of Main Street.

Sonny LeBlanc Sr. stated to his daughter that he had shot his wife, Sandra LeBlanc. was located near M.K. Dixon Funeral Home on Main Street and was taken into custody by authorities. Leblanc was arrested on the charge of Second Degree Murder. Upon officers’ arrival, the victim, Sandra LeBlanc, was found to have been shot in the chest area.

The incident remains under investigation.
