Thibodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue announced that the Thibodaux Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. Sunday night.
On Sunday, May 23rd, at approximately 7:13 p.m., the Thibodaux Police Department received information that a subject had been shot in the parking lot of a shopping center located in the 500 block of St. Mary Street.
When Police arrived, they discovered that Juamall Walker (B/M 33 YOA) had been shot once. Medical personnel on scene immediately rendered aid and transported the victim to an out of area hospital. The victim remains in critical condition.
Although this investigation is still ongoing, thus far the Thibodaux Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has obtained warrants for Wilfred Walker II (B/M 32 YOA). Wilfred Walker II is wanted for Attempted Second Degree Murder (Felony) & Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Felony) with a bond amount of $600,000.00. A motive in the shooting is still under investigation; however, police have a significant reason to believe that the two subjects knew each other and this was not a random act of violence.
Chief Zeringue is urging our community partners to reach out if you know the whereabouts or any information that could lead police to Wilfred Walker II.
