State Police Investigating Lafayette Police Department Officer Involved Shooting ; Man Killed Identified

Lafayette – Shortly after 6:00 pm on Monday, February 10, 2020, Louisiana State Police was requested by the Lafayette Police Department to investigate a shooting incident involving two of their officers.  Detectives assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations are investigating the incident.
The initial investigation revealed two officers with the Lafayette Police Department were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 1000 block of Kaliste Saloom Road in reference to a disturbance involving a weapon.  While at the complex, a subject approached the officers and a physical confrontation ensued leading to the suspect being shot and fatally wounded.  An officer involved in the incident received non-life threatening injuries and was treated by medical personnel.  The subject was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafayette Parish Coroner’s Office.
The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Jeremy Todd Baham of Lafayette.
The investigation is continuing and no other details have been released.
